Abubakar Momoh is a popular Nigerian civic engineer and politician who has served twice as a member of the House of Representatives representing Etsako federal constituency Edo state. Prior to joining the PDP in 2019 to run in the Edo North senatorial race, which he lost, he was a member of the APC.
After his defeat in the senatorial vote, Abubakar Momoh rejoined the APC. He is one of the candidates put out by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the ministry position that was made public on July 28, 2023 by Senate President Godswill Akpabio.

Between 1999 and 2003, Abubakar Momoh advanced up the political food chain from elected councillor to local government chairman to member of the Edo State House of Assembly, where he distinguished himself as one of the most effective legislators in the state.
Between 2003 and 2007, Momoh was chosen to represent the Etsako Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives. In 2007, she was one of the political fighters who supported Adams Oshiomhole’s bid for governor under the Action Congress at the time.
Between 2011 and 2015, Momoh was also re-elected to the House of Representatives. He is known to have overseen the completion of projects in each of the three wards that make up the Etsako Federal Constituency.
In July 2023, he will be one of President Tinubu’s ministry nominees. In 2015, he came up just short in the race for the Edo North Senate seat. In 2019, Momoh switched from the APC to the PDP, running on the party’s ticket in the Edo North senatorial race. However, she barely lost the election in the region that is also home to Oshiomhole.
After that, Momoh rejoined the APC and teamed up with other party leaders to work relentlessly to ensure the party’s win in the general elections of 2023, with the APC recording a landslide victory in Edo North.
