Ajuri Obari Ngelale was born on November 12, in the United States. He is a native of River State and spent some time there as a child.
Despite the fact that his father, Chief Precious Osaro Ngelale, is of Nigerian descent and was previously the Minister of State for Water Resources, his mother is a German-American citizen.
When he was 5 years old, Ajuri Ngelale and his parents moved to Port Harcourt. He finished his elementary education at Government Secondary School in Port Harcourt before enrolling in the University of Kansas, where he received a degree in Political Science and History.

Ajuri Ngelale began working for a number of media outlets, including The Sun newspaper, where he eventually rose to the position of Assistant Editor.
He returned to Nigeria for his National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) after completing his schooling there, and was placed to Africa Independent Television (AIT) as his primary place of assignment.
Even after completing his service year, Ajuri Ngelale remained employed by AIT and hosted a radio programme called Political Platform that aired five times per week. He was let go from the station after three years of active duty, but not before the show had made him well-known.
He worked as a prominent news correspondent, producer, and presenter for Channel Television in Abuja in 2016. He also served as the host of TV programmes like Sunrise Day and Africa Future Leaders. He also served as the Federal Ministry of Power, Work, and Housing’s Lead Public Affairs Consultant.
Ajuri Ngelale was appointed by the administration of the late President Muhammadu Buhari to the position of Senior Special Assistant on Public Matters in 2019. The Struggle for Nigeria’s Soul and Buhari: From General to President are two books he has authored. He has also edited and published numerous political pieces.
Ajuri Ngelale was chosen by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to serve as the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity on July 31, 2023.
