Laniyan was born in Osogbo, the capital of Osun State southwestern Nigeria. He attended a Baptist secondary school in Lagos State where he earned his WAEC diploma before going on to the University of Ibadan to earn a Bachelor of Arts in theatre arts.
Antar Laniyan Career
When Laniyan initially started acting professionally in 1981 while still a member of the Kakaki Art Squad, he was cast as a “major general” in the movie Everybody Wants to Know.
He has appeared in a number of Nigerian films, including Sango, which was directed by Obafemi Lasode and written by Wale Ogunyemi.
He directed the opening scene of Super Story, the acclaimed Nigerian soap opera created by Wale Adenuga in 2000. Additionally, he oversaw the direction of the Wale Adenuga Production stable productions This Life and Oh Father Oh Daughter.
