Early Life and Education
Chinedu Ikedieze was born to Igbo parents, Mr. and Mrs. Michael Ikedieze Ogbonna, in Amaeke Arochukwu, Abia State, Nigeria. In Aba, Abia State, Chinedu Ikedieze finished both his elementary and secondary education.
After completing his secondary education, he attended the Institute of Management and Technology (IMT), Enugu, to pursue a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Theatre Arts and a degree in Mass Communication.
After completing his studies at IMT, he first wanted to practise law, but in 1998 he changed his mind and decided to pursue a career in cinema acting instead, beginning with little parts.
In a supporting role in the 1998 film Evil Men, he made his acting debut. He made an application to the prestigious New York Film Academy in 2004.
Chinedu Ikedieze Career
Chinedu Ikedieze started working in the Nollywood industry in 2000 and rose to fame for his breakthrough role as Aki in the 2002 film Aki na Ukwa, which also starred another little actor, Osita Iheme.
Since the release of the movie, the duo has played prominent roles together in several films and is referred to as “Aki Paw Paw.”
The Nollywood industry has lavished praise on Chinedu and Osita for maintaining their chemistry both on and off-screen. Ikedieze got the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2007 African Movie Academy Awards.
In appreciation for his contributions to Nollywood and the country’s economic growth, the then-President of Nigeria, Goodluck Jonathan, also gave him the Order of the Federal Republic.
