Chinonso Arubayi is a Nigerian film and television actress, television presenter, film and television producer and model.
Her most well-known performances are those in My Flatmates, Rumour Has It, and I Am Nazzy, her first film production, alongside IK Ogbonna and Jidekene Achufusi. She is renowned for having previously hosted the Urban Kitchen Show.
Early Life and Education
Chinonso was born in Warri, a town in Delta state, in southern Nigeria. She was born in Awka, Anambra State, and raised in Lagos. She has Igbo ancestry and graduated from Nnamdi Azikiwe University with a degree in mass communication.
She worked as a host on the university’s campus radio station while she was a student. Chinonso was crowned Miss Teen Nigeria in 2005.
Chinonso Arubayi Career
In 2014, Chinonso started her acting career as a day player on The Johnsons, an M-Net television series. On the shows On The Couch, Project Swan, You’ve Got Issues, and a few more, she later started writing and producing for Consolidated Media Associates, the proprietors of Sound city, Trybe Tv, and Spice Tv.
Chinonso began studying the Business of Film Making for Film Producers in 2018 at the Pan Atlantic University’s School of Media Studies. She received a lot of attention in 2020 when she took the lead in Mary Remmy Njoku’s feature film Beyond Pardon.
She has appeared in a number of well-known films and television shows, including Survivors, My Flatmates, Crazy Grannies, Lockdown, Loving Amanda, and Rumour Has It on NDANI TV.
She started presenting the Filmhouse TV Show in 2018 and was afterwards identified as the host of the well-known food programme Urban Kitchen, which she presided over for two seasons.
I Am Nazzy, Chinonso’s first film, was released in April 2022. Jimmy Odukoya, Denrele Edun, and IK Ogbonna were among the renowned Nigerian actors who appeared in the Kayode Peters-directed film.
Fans and critics praised her portrayal of Sisi Eko, the main character in the original series on Africa Magic TV.
