Early Life and Education
Faithia Williams, who is of Delta State ancestry, was born on February 5, 1969 in Ikeja. She was conceived into a nine-member polygamous family.
In Lagos state, Faithia went to Maryland Primary School and Maryland Comprehensive Secondary School. The Maryland Comprehensive Secondary School is where she received her West African School Certificate.
She then pursued a diploma certificate at the Kwara State Polytechnic. Faithia was admitted to Olabisi Onabanjo University in 2016 to pursue a degree in film.
Faithia Williams Career
Faithia Williams stumbled into acting. Alhaji Fatai Teniola, Faithia’s uncle, requested her to fill in for an actress who was absent from one of their movie’s productions.
“Ta lo pa chief” is the name of the movie in which Williams made her acting debut. Over the years, she has appeared in, produced, and directed a number of Nigerian films. Her film Iranse Aje won the best indigenous film of the year in 2008, and she received the Africa Movie Academy Award for Most Outstanding Indigenous Actress.
She and Odunlade Adekola, the year’s finest actor and actress, respectively, each took home the Africa Movie Academy Award in April 2014.
For her efforts on the movie “Iya Alalake,” she also took up the Best Indigenous Language prize at the 2015 Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards.
