Early Life and Education
Ice Prince Zamani was born on October 30, 1984, in the city of Minna. When he was two years old, his family relocated to Jos, Plateau State. He comes from the Northern region of Nigeria and is of Angas origin.
He lived in Jos and attended St. Murumba College. In Jos, Plateau State, he also studied at the Science Tutorial Niger State College. He enrolled in the University of Jos to study zoology, but he was forced to leave because of a “financial constraint.”
Ice Prince Career
In 1999, Ice Prince Zamani started writing rap songs, performing them in front of his classmates, and in 2001, he started recording them. He cofounded the “ECOMOG Squad” with a few buddies in 2002, but it was dissolved after a year.
He met M.I. Abaga, Jesse Jagz, Ruby, Lindsey, Eve, and Taz in 2004, and together they founded the group that is now referred to as the “Loopy Crew.”
After the release of “Oleku,” one of Nigeria’s most-remixed songs ever, he gained notoriety. 2009 saw him win the Hennessy Artistry Club Tour.
Everybody Loves, Ice Prince’s first studio album, was released in 2011 and featured the smash singles “Oleku,” “Superstar,” and “Juju.”
Fire of Zamani, Ice Prince’s second studio album, was made available in 2013. The hits “Aboki,” “More,” “Gimme Dat,” and “I Swear” were all featured on the album.
On July 1st, 2015, Ice Prince was named vice president of Chocolate City. He worked there until 2016, at which point he quit the label.
