Early Life and Education
Made Kuti was born to Femi and Funke Kuti on September 26, 1995. He was raised in the New Afrika Shrine. In his early years, he studied the trumpet, alto, sax, piano, and drums, among other instruments. He began playing the trumpet at the age of three.
He attended Fela Kuti’s alma mater, Trinity Laban Conservatoire in London, after studying music at Uxbridge College, Hayes Campus.

When Made Kuti was younger, he joined his father’s band, Positive Force, and played the bass and saxophone. At eight years old, he began going on tours with the band. In October 2020, he released his debut single, “Free Your Mind”.
For(e)ward, his debut album, was released both solo and as a part of a double LP called Legacy+ with his father, Femi Kuti. Produced by Sodi Marciszewer, a former collaborator of Fela Kuti, the album was published by Partisan Records.
The album’s final eight tracks are Made Kuti’s For(e)ward, followed by Femi Kuti’s Stop the Hate, which makes up the first ten tracks. Delphine Desane’s photograph of Femi and Made Kuti appears on the cover. An album critic for Pulse Nigeria gave it a 7.7 out of 10. One description of his music is a fusion of reggae, rock, jazz, and highlife.
At the “An evening with Made Kuti” event, which took place at the Terra Kulture Arena in Lagos, Made Kuti introduced his band, The Movement. He is the grandson of afrobeat pioneer Fela Kuti and the son of Nigerian afrobeat musician Femi Kuti.
