Natasha Akpoti was born on December 9, 1979, she is the second child in a family of four children, and the only daughter of a Nigerian father and a Ukrainian mother.
Her father, Dr. Jimoh Abdul Akpoti, is a Nigerian from Obeiba-Ihima, Kogi State, while Natasha Akpoti’s mother, Ludmila Kravchenk, is a Ukrainian from Rakitna in the Chernivtsi region. She is an Ebiralan native.
The steadfast politician grew up in the Ibima local government region of Okene. She completed her studies at the University of Abuja, earning a Bachelor of Laws degree in 2004, and was admitted to the Nigerian Bar in 2005.
After that, Natasha Akpoti went to the University of Dundee, where she earned a Master of Laws in 2012. Additionally, she has an MBA with a concentration in oil and gas management from the University of Dundee.

From 2007 to 2010, Natasha Akpoti served as legal counsel for Brass NLG. She received her law degree from the Nigerian Law School. She founded the Builders Hub Impact Investment Programme (BHIIP) in 2015.
She gained notoriety after delivering a report on unethical practices involving the Ajaokuta steel factory before the National Assembly on March 1, 2018.
The study she filed described the repeated misappropriation of public funds and theft since the steel mill’s construction, which has remained dormant despite numerous attempts to restart it.
The Federal Ministry of Mines and Steel Development, however, disputed the report, and Akpoti was charged with intentionally misleading the House of Representatives.
Additionally, a group of independent steel merchants claimed that Akpoti was waging an orchestrated campaign to harm the authority and benefit certain business interests.
Ifeanyi Uba and Williams Orji, the publishers of the Authority newspaper, were sentenced to pay Natasha Akpoti ten million naira in damages for their libellous publishing against her by an Abuja high court.
In 2018, Natasha Akpoti announced her desire to compete on the Social Democratic Party (SDP) platform for the seat of senator for Kogi Central in the Nigerian Senate.
