Early Life and Education
Akinbo was born in Lagos, Nigeria, on December 9, 1985. She was the youngest of ten children and sung in church with her siblings. After seeing a Funmi Adams concert, she was motivated to pursue a career in music. In the 2000 Amen Starlet competition, Niyola finished second.
She received her primary and secondary education at neighborhood schools. After earning her degree, she started studying journalism at the Independent Journalism Centre, which is run by PM News.
She subsequently went to the University of Lagos, where she earned a degree in English.
Niyola Career
When Akinbo was eight years old, it was clear that she was passionate about music. She improved her abilities when she joined the church choir.
She participated in the Amen Starlet competition in 2000 and finished as the first runner up. In 2005, she started her professional career, and she temporarily worked for Trybe Records.
A production contract with Make Some Noise Entertainment was subsequently signed by her. Under this label, the first albums of Me n U (In Da Club), No More, and Dem Say by Niyola were distributed.
After that, Eniola Akinbo joined Westside Music Label. She created her debut album for this label, which had songs like Bring It and Call My Name. She received two nominations for the Hip Hop World Awards thanks to the album.
