Early Life and Education 

Teni was born on December 23, 1993 in Lagos State. She is Niniola, a singer from Nigeria,’s younger sister.

She graduated from American InterContinental University with a degree in business administration after graduating from Apata Memorial High School and afterwards attending The University of Georgia. 

Teni Career 

While a member of Shizzi’s Magic Fingers Records, Teni recorded her debut single, “Amen”. In 2017, she parted ways with the record company and joined Dr. Dolor Entertainment. After releasing the track “Fargin” in September 2017, Teni began to acquire popularity.

She achieved success after releasing the hit singles “Askamaya,” “Case,” which Nigerian singer Snazzy the Optimist later reworked as “Upgrade,” and “Uyo Meyo.” On MTV Base’s list of the Top 20 Hottest Naija Tracks of 2018, “Askamaya” came in at number fifteen.

Teni was highlighted on YouTube Music’s Trending Artist on the Rise on February 20th, 2019. She released the video for “Sugar Mummy” on May 3, 2019. She dropped a brand-new song named “Power Rangers” on June 14.

On October 11, 2019, Teni released Billionaire, her self-titled debut EP. The “Billionaire EP” consisted of six (6) songs and didn’t have any guests. Pheelz and Jaysynths Beatz produced the EP.

Teni collaborated with Nigerian DJ Neptune to produce the Quarantine Playlist EP in April 2020. The EP features Teni acting out various stages of being in quarantine and discussing the hardships of being under lockdown as a result of the coronavirus epidemic. The four tracks on the EP, which was produced by Tempoe, P. Prime, and Dra, are primarily mid-tempo.

Teni disclosed the title and anticipated release date for her upcoming first album on February 2, 2021. “The time is near,” she wrote on her Instagram page. The album will be titled “WONDALAND” and will be released on March 2021.

Her first record, Wonderland, took more than two years to create and was recorded in locations like London, New York, Orlando, Ondo, Lagos, and Abuja.

Teni Endorsements

Teni inked an endorsement agreement with Cadbury Nigeria’s confectionery brand Tom Tom in March 2019.

According to PM News, Teni struck an endorsement agreement with Globacom Nigeria, a major telecommunications company, on October 6, 2020.

Teni received Most Promising Act to Watch at the 2018 Nigeria Entertainment Awards as well as Rookie of the Year at the 2018 Headies Awards.
