Wole Olanipekun was born on November 18, 1951, he is a native of Ikere-Ekiti, he attended Amoye Grammar School in Ikere-Ekiti, Ekiti State southwestern Nigeria but obtained the West Africa School Certificate at Ilesa Grammar before he proceeded to the University of Lagos, where he obtained a bachelor’s degree in Law.

After graduating from the Nigerian Law School, he was called to the bar in July 1976. He later attained the rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria in July 1991, the same year he was appointed Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice of Ondo State, a position he held for two years. He was chosen to lead the Nigerian Bar Association in 2002.
He was chosen to serve as the Pan African Lawyers Union’s vice president in 2003. He was designated a Life Bencher by the Nigerian Body of Benchers in January 2007.
Between 2004 and 2006, he served as the provost and chair of the university’s governing council. He was chosen to serve as the Pan African Lawyers Union’s (PALU) Vice President in 2003.
