South African musician Sandile Msimango is better known by his stage name Young Stunna. His popular tracks “Bopha” and “Adiwele” are well known. Additionally, he has done a lot of work with DJ Maphorisa and Kabza De Small, two record producers.
Early Life and Education
Young Stunna was raised in a Christian household and frequently participated in the church choir. She was born in Daveyton, South Africa. His father operated a saloon with a jukebox, and his mother sang. Weekends at the tavern exposed him to a wide range of music, including RnB and Kwaito.
He went to Lee Rand High School and Benoni West Primary. At Daveyton’s Unity Secondary School, he finished his matriculation.
Young Stunna Career
He began creating music at the age of 13 and decided to make music his career. Before transitioning to amapiano, he started out as a hip-hop musician in 2012.
He acquired the moniker Young Stunna from his admirers in Daveyton, where he was raised. As a member of the Piano Hub roster, he first gained notoriety in 2021 when he appeared on the massive acapella hit “Bopha” by Felo Le Tee and Mellow & Sleazy.
The South African musicians DJ Maphorisa, Blxckie, Sizwe Alakaine, and Kabza De Small are all featured on his debut album, Notumato, which was released in October 2021. With a total of 23.4 million impressions, his song “Adiwele” peaked at number one on SA radio.
Stunna was highlighted by Spotify on the Spotify documentary Freedom Sounds: From Kwaito to Amapiano before the end of April 2022.
