Early Life and Education
Folashodun Adebisi was born on March 7, 1962. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Lagos, where he majored in mechanical engineering and received a Bachelor of Science degree from 1978 to 1983.
At the same university, Mr. Adebisi resumed his education in 1985 and earned a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering with a focus in Production Engineering.
He changed his concentration from 1988 to 1989, displaying his flexibility and adaptability, and during that time he earned a Master’s degree in Business Administration with a focus in Finance.

Mr. Folashodun Adebisi began his professional career with Mek-and Associates, where he worked as a Consultant Engineer from 1984 until 1989. After that, he changed jobs and worked as a marketing executive at Inlaks Computers Limited from 1989 to 1990.
He joined Citibank Nigeria Limited in 1990 and served as its Head of Treasury Operations from 1990 to 1993. In the following years, from 1993 to 1996, Mr. Adebisi worked as a Supervising Consultant at Agusto & Co. Ltd. Then, in 1999, he moved on to MBC International Limited, where he worked as the deputy general manager in charge of banking operations and IT.
He joined First City Monument Bank (FCMB) Limited as Vice-President and was in charge of Operations & Information Technology till 2002, continuing his professional path.
He moved on to Ecobank Nigeria Plc in 2003 and was appointed an Executive Director with responsibility for Operations & Information Technology. Later in 2007, he joined Renaissance Securities Nigeria Limited and took on the position of Director, Information Technology and Corporate Services.
Notably, from September 2009 to April 2012, Mr. Adebisi was hired by Union Bank of Nigeria Limited to serve as an Executive Director in charge of Operations, Technology, and Services.
He held the esteemed position of Managing Director/CEO of Nigeria Inter-Bank Settlement System Plc from May 2012 until October 2018. He then started serving as the Central Bank of Nigeria’s (CBN) Deputy Governor, Operations, starting in October 2018.
On the board of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) since December 9, 2019, he has furthermore represented the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria.
